The Search For It All

Mysteries abound upon this crazy craft on which we fly through the void

The hows and whys of it remain an eternal question unsolved

Crawling closer to the answers does not present an option for you to avoid

Finding the truth behind the greatest mystery, the one forever unresolved

---

Rest not upon laurels as you navigate the great adventure you were lifted

For time is short and sweet for each of those walking this earth

You may not have asked for such pain and sorrow in this life that's gifted

The story is the same for us all from the very moments of our birth

---

Pain, without love, feels like an eternity stranded in some dark place in hell

But without love would you know the meaning of such a good thing

The wanton cruelty of the cold and endless void heard by a yell

Yet you sit and wait for the doorbell or phone to hopefully ring

---

In a cold and solemn way you sit there and cry

This is no the world you even once as a young one dreamt of

It was all so simple in that distant past as you dreamt and stared at the sky

Thinking that someday you'd find peace, happiness, and even love

---

Time, it got away, as you tried to conquer the world and your voices

Never knowing what was speeding at you, down times highway

Carrying the mountain weight of all those hard and painful choices

To one day stand in the midst of it all, wondering why you stay

---

It is the search for all things that make this life worth the grief

The hope to find your completion in time

Never did you imagine that it would all be taken by an ugly thief

Things can end in an instant, at the drop of a dime
