Madame Misfortune
a lifetime of bad luck
Tears falling against the pillow,
her heart is full of sadness.
Everyone thinks she's perfect, but
no one knows what lies behind closed doors.
*
Skeletons in the closet,
all her innocence has died.
Like an unicorn in a fairytale,
love is always just out of reach.
*
"I don't need to be taught my ABC's";
every insult now sticks in her mind.
*
Cautious, she tries to hide her true self,
afraid to be vulnerable, afraid she'll lose him, too.
He attempts to undress her and she shyly declines;
she never hears from him again after.
*
A cruel joke is played;
burning down her pity party lessens the pain.
He returns and spends the night,
stealing the only precious thing she kept.
*
Unable to handle her distress,
she wants to put her demons to rest.
*
She starts stealing her friends men and
doesn't understand she's making it worse
instead of making it end.
*
Plastic surgery, make-up, new clothes;
she changes herself to keep unworthy men.
A variety come and go from her house, so
everyone calls her a slut.
*
She can't comprehend that lust doesn't equal love.
She can't call for help because no one cares;
"she's a whore".
*
One-night stands continues,
as does all the abuse,
and she finds herself having enough.
She cries for help;
"ridiculous", "we're not stupid",
"we know you were having fun".
*
Every light loses its glow,
and every star dies;
if somebody had helped her,
she’d probably still be alive.

This is one acrostic that has many lessons for one to learn both male and female. Good job.
It's really sad when someone mistakes lust for love. Your Acrostic had so much truth to it!
Amazing! The nights glow going away at the end was also very cool! Amazing work! Fantastic
