We talked about everything—where we’d live, what our house would look like, even the names of kids we didn’t have. It felt so real. But somewhere along the way, things started to change. Not suddenly. Not loudly. Just… quietly. The calls became shorter. The texts less frequent. The laughter faded into silence that neither of us knew how to fill. I noticed it before you did—or maybe before you admitted it. I kept trying. I tried to hold on to the “forever” we promised. I reminded you of our dreams, our plans, the way we used to be.
